Love this app, all the species and then some, lots of relevant information and photos. The only issue is a tendancy to lose access to the photos from time to time, the only solution seems to be to open and kill the app repeatedly. Is there a fix in the future?
This smartphone version of the Environmental Weeds of Australia DVD id tool provides full portability and is a self contained download - exactly what is needed when identifying plants in the field away from cellphone reception. Hundreds of species are covered with numerous characters and images available to identify them.
Excellent app. Easy to use and very useful.
Use it all the time for work, it's fantastic & easy to use. Wish they would keep adding plants & make one for eucalyptus too
I've been using these Lucid identification keys since uni. Great to see them come to Android. Would be good to have a favourites option to save the identified object though.
After using it for a while I found it wasn't very helpful as an identification tool or even to look up plants when you know the name.
Tested it on St John’s Wort and Serrated Tussock running a Samsung Note 2. Works very well. Off-line too which is essential for Rangers. Thank you.
Pros: First useful guide to weeds in Australia I've come across for Android. Love that it can be run without WIFI access, unlike many other keys I've tried. Easy to use. Photos are clear well when my Nexus 10 is in portrait mode Cons: Photos are blurry if the Nexus 10 is used in landscape mode (too few pixels in photos for this), but may be OK for a 7" tablet. Tick boxes for selecting features are incredibly faint - initially got frustrated using the app as I wasn't aware they were there and couldn't see how to select a feature. Correction needed: lesser canary grass (Phalaris minor) hasn't been entered correctly, so doesn't sort correctly - scientific name and common name have been reversed.
